5 x 5

My Favourite Artists.

1) Dave Grohl - Dave Grohl has never gone solo however I consider him to be my favourite artist. He is an exceptional front man, this shown when he is with the Foo Fighters, who have had numerous number 1 albums and singles across many countries. Journalists and other fellow musicians such as Krist Novoselic have also claimed that he is 'one of the best drummers in the world', drumming with Nirvana, Them Crooked Vultures, Tenacious D, Queens of The Stone Age and plenty of other bands. He is a very talented musician and has been involved in great bands so this is why he is my favourite artist.

 2) Arctic Monkeys - Arctic Monkeys are an English rock band which formed in 2002, in a suburb of Sheffield. They are a 4 piece band with Alex Turner being the lead. An achievable measure which they have reached is having all of their albums reach the top of the charts in the UK, and it looks like their new album AM, released tomorrow, will also add to the tally of number 1's.

3) Oasis - These are a band that everyone in Britain should have heard of. They are an English rock band which formed in 1991, in Manchester. The two leadmen were brothers, Noel and Liam Gallagher, they joined a band called The Rain however after their audition was successful Liam suggested that they should change their name to Oasis. They also have had all of their albums reach number 1 in the UK charts, 7 in total. They are perhaps best known for their song 'Wonderwall'

4) The 1975 - The 1975 are a band that formed in 2002 after they met each other at Wilmslow High School, near Manchester. They have released 3 EP's however none of them have ever placed in the charts. This differs to their début album which was released last week, on the 2nd September. In the Mid-week chart they placed at number 1. The deluxe version of this album contains 37 songs, all of the new songs but all of the others from previous EP's as-well.

5) Miles Kane - Miles Kane is a solo artist who has had relatively good success in Britain. He has had 1 top 10 album and another top 15 album which is a great feet, especially for a 27 year old Indie/Rock artist. He used to be the lead singer of 'The Shadow Puppets' however when they split up his solo career kickstarted. He has toured with Arctic Monkeys and Beady Eye however is now headlining tours round the whole of Britain. My facvorite song from him has to be 'Come Closer' with 'Inhaler' being a close second.

My Favourite Albums (at the minute).

1) Arctic Monkeys - AM - I love everything that the Arctic Monkeys do, people have openly criticised this album as it is deemed to have a slower vibe to it than others. In my opinion they work this vibe as much as they do with their other top albums. My favourite song of this has to be Fireside purely because I love the intro.

2) The 1975 - The 1975 (Deluxe) - After their EP's came out I was very excited for this album and they fully lived up to expectation. They may have even surpassed my expectation, the album itself has is fairly long and with the EP's also being added into the deluxe version, it was an an offer that I could not refuse.

3) Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not - Their first album and also probably their most favoured album, by the wide majority anyway. Containing hits such as Riot Van, Dancing Shoes and When The Sun Goes Down, no wonder it is a cracker.

4) Josh Osho - L.I.F.E - After seeing Osho live, after he supported Rizzle Kicks at the O2 Academy, I took an instant like to him, ever since this I have rated him. Surprisingly he has only ever charted one song and even that only got to 89th. This is fairly weird as if you listened to this album without knowing who it was I think that you would rate it as a top 10 album minimum, and some of the songs on it like Redemption Days
are very catchy.

5) The XX - Coexist - Not normally my type of music however I like this as it is good to listen to when you are on the bus as it chills you out and in my opinion, stops you from getting aggravated with annoying people.

Top 5 Films

1) A.I - A very good touching film that makes you think. Starring Jude Law about an artificial boy who learns to become real and starts to have feelings for his family. A must watch.

2) Marley & Me (Kind of) - A great funny film which I would recommend watching, although if you have a dog which as passed away I recommend turning off with 10 minutes left.

3) Forrest Gump - A classic which everyone has heard of if not watched. Tom Hanks casts the lead role, and the story is based around his life.

4) Anchorman - An absolutely hilarious comedy with stars such as Will Ferrell, Steve Carrel and Vince Vaughn. A very good film which would go down a treat with most ages.

5) Old School - Another Ferrell and Vaughn film, this time about a group of middle age men who try to recapture their glory college days by opening up a fraternity.

Top 5 TV Shows

1) Top Boy - With the first series being a hit, the second series, screened on Channel 4 less than a month ago had a very big hype, it certainly did it live up to the hype. The film stars a lot of actors and actresses which are pretty unheard of, in my opinion this makes it more realistic as sometimes when you watch it, it feels like a documentary.

2) Breaking Bad - This TV series is probably the most popular programme at the minute, it is about a pretty poor man diagnosed with cancer, who starts producing meth to provide for his families longevity. I am only on series 4 at the minute so thankfully there is always this which will keep me occupied.

3) Bad Education - In my opinion the first series of this was hilarious, don't get me wrong the series being screened now is funny however it seems to have been toned down a bit, which I dislike.

4) The Bill - Unnfortunately coming to an end several years ago, this programme was always something which would keep me entertained on a wednesday night. It was about a police station and the people who work there. Thankfully it still comes on watch now and then.

5) Luther - A thrilling TV series. Idris Elba casts the main role and he plays it perfectly, he comes across as a very mysterious, crooked man and this is what makes it class.

Top 5 Comedians

Jack Whitehall - A very, what seems, naturally funny man. Absolutely hilarious in Fresh Meat, in which he plays JP. He is also a very good stand up comedian, having got his DVD. Unfortunately I didn't have the money at the time to get tickets for his live tour.

Frankie Boyle - Frankie Boyle is a lot like Marmite, you either love him or hate him. I love him as he is very controversial and says stuff which other comedians may be scared to say, he doesn't seem to care about his reputation. His controversy page on Wikipedia is a very funny read.

Matthew Horne - Shot to fame in the award winning Gavin & Stacy and then partnered up with James Corder to do Lesbian, Vampire, Killer (in my opinion his worst film). Now plays the headteacher in bad education and I find him absolutely hilarious, in my opinion he makes the show.

Zach Galifianakis - An actor/ comedian. He is most known for playing Alan in the Hangover trilogy however has also starred in plenty of other top films and also has encountered stand up a few times.

John Bishop - A stand up comedian who has had his own highly rated TV show which was screened on BBC 1. I am lucky enough to have seen him live twice and I am glad I did as I find him highly amusing.
